The ABA Library

The ABA library commemorated its fiftieth anniversary by making the catalogue accessible online. Download a searchable PDF catalogue file.

Arrangement is by author (or editor) throughout except in the case of catalogues of libraries or other collections which are normally listed under owners.

The Library is accommodated at Roger J. Treglown, Antiquarian and Rare Books, Sunderland House, Sunderland Street, Macclesfield, Cheshire, SK11 6JF.  Phone / fax number 0044 ( 0 )1625 618978. e-mail: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

It may be visited, viewed and consulted there strictly by prior arrangement. The Honorary Librarian will attempt to answer any bibliographical queries from members, all ILAB booksellers and the public as soon as possible.

The collection continues to expand with purchases of new books, the most recent being of the entries for the competition for the 14th and 15th ILAB-Breslauer Prize for Bibliography and remaining volumes from the 13th competition. It owes its origin to the generosity of Arthur Swann of New York.  Subsequently gifts by members in their capacity of author, compiler or publisher have done much to build it up. Needless to say all such gifts – reference books, specialised catalogues of lasting value, histories of firms, book trade memoirs (published or unpublishable) – continue to be welcome.

Honorary Librarian
