Our second-hand bookshop is in the centre of London. The shop is fifty yards from Leicester Square station, on the edge of Covent Garden and the Chinese quarter. We are close to many theatres and within spitting distance of Soho & Piccadilly - well worth a detour when in the mighty city.

Tim Bryars opened his antiquarian book and map shop in Summer 2004, returning to street level after some years spent admiring the tops of peoples' heads from a fourth floor office at Oxford Circus and communicating with the world electronically. Traditional ground-floor bookshops like ours allow for browsing and face-to-face discussion, and the chance to examine original material at first hand – all valuable opportunities which we would encourage customers to take up whenever possible.

Peter Ellis - within our cramped confines, amid the tottering piles of newly arrived stock, you will find first editions of literary highlights in fine condition, many of which are signed or inscribed copies, beautiful illustrated books, impressively bound sets, as well as a multitude of scarce and fascinating works on a variety of subjects.

Recent acquisitions, for example, include an immaculate sixteenth century herbal, Osip Mandelstam's rare first book, a collection of books by and about the Surrealists, a pristine first edition of The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes etc, etc. But please don't get the idea that the stock comprises nothing but the expensive and the stellar: we have prices to suit all pockets.

Natalie Galustian Rare Books, established in 2005, specialises in first editions, manuscripts and letters from nineteenth and twentieth-century English and American literature, with particular emphasis on African, African-American and Caribbean fiction, poetry and history; books on poker and gambling; beat and avant-garde literature, and also  contemporary art, original prints and photographs.

Marchpane is located in the centre of Cecil Court, the quiet pedestrian lane lined with antiquarian bookshops, tucked away in London's bustling West End, Marchpane opened in August 1989.

During the last two decades Marchpane has become well known as a specialist in children's and illustrated books from the eighteenth century up to the present day. On our shelves you can find early publications from Newbery's moral tales to signed first editions of Harry Potter.

Stephen Poole Fine Books specialises in first editions of twentieth-century fiction, poetry and plays in the English language (including translations into English), together with a small selection of literary biography and printed letters and diaries. The stock, with very few exceptions, is in fine or near fine condition. There are many signed copies and a good selection of books which have won, or been shortlisted for, the major literary prizes.
