Angus O’Neill - President

Angus O’Neill has owned the Omega Bookshop since 2005: based in London, it occupied bricks and mortar premises in Cecil Court for several years, but now trades exclusively at book fairs and (sporadically) online. He began dealing in rare books while still at school in the mid-1970s, and has been a full-time antiquarian bookseller since graduating from Cambridge in 1982.

Angus was an editor and co-author (with Philippa and Leo Bernard) of Antiquarian Books: A Companion for Booksellers, Librarians and Collectors (1994, reprinted 1995), and a contributor to the ABA’s centenary book, Out of Print and Into Profit (2006, reprinted 2007). He is currently working on the catalogue of the Ömer Koç collection of books on Istanbul (Impressions of Istanbul: Voyage to Constantinople), of which the first volume appeared in 2014. Angus was elected to the Council of the ABA in 2005, 2008 and again in 2011. Despite attempts to specialize in modern literature and the arts, he has bought and sold books on many subjects and in over thirty languages, and he regularly enjoys lecturing at the London Rare Books School.
